ok before i say anything, yes i have used the search and seen various posts on shift kits. what i want to know from people that have fitted these to the BA/BF falcons is...
1. make the "adaptive auto" not adapt anymore, and if so how badly is it affected?
2. can it be used in manual mode when shifting up gears and down?
3. what types of s**t kits are their available for fitment on the BA/BF

cars a ba mk2 xr6 non turbo

thanks

hey mate - have you thought about getting it custom tuned? any good tuner can firm up the shifts in performance mode only if you like. then you can just leave it drive when you are puttering around so your not floggin the tranny all the time.

yer ive thought of custom tune but 70 bucks for a shift kit that i can switch off, and leave in normal mode most of the time, vs 1300 + bucks for a flash and custom tune. yes a tune is worth it and will obviously give way more benefits, but im still on my p's and not looking at spending that much. :(

you can buy the tuning device (sniper or sct, your preference) from ebay. its a lot cheaper than getting it custom tuned, and will give a decent increase to power and will firm up your trans. then when you want to custom tune it, you won't have to pay for the use of a new tune profile on the device they use.

yes it is alot cheaper, but to get the full power from the car you then get it custom tuned, and still just the flash x3 is about 700-800 on ebay, im just after a quick little shift kit for when i go to the drags, its going to be connected to a rocket cover switch so it will be off 99% of the time. but back to the original question, has anyone used one and how did it affect their adaptive transition.

p.s. another reason for not tuning is that i don't want to spend any more big $'s on the car as im only going to have it for 2-3 more years
