Or alternatively, you could support a site sponser and buy from Jay's RPD, and get a fully adjustable shiftkit.

Mate for every bad comment about a quickshift kit - theres a squillion others that love em. More than likely if their tranny or uni joint or whatever it was, went bang, it would have gone regardless, the fact that the quick shifter was put in place just made it go quicker... On the other hand you do need to practice a bit of common sense with it. If the gears are slamming, and your running it full time (ie not turning it off) - of course you're going to see premature wear on the above mentioned places... If you only use it when you need to (or want to as it were) have some fun - and then turn the thing off for everyday driving it shouldn't make any great difference... I got one on mine, its got an on / off switch and thats it, and I've had it on for almost 2 years now, and I have not had anything go on my car...

Doesn't effect the power button at all, I know of some people that hook up the shift kit to it.

put it in power mode and it gives you the harder shifts as well. I prefer mine apart from the power switch but thats my preferance tho.

Hmm, I might look into one of these for my machine. I'm gonna get the trans serviced and get them to reset it to sports mode soon. Just need to save some cash.

I've always wondered wot make / model the trans in ym car was, and wot kinda specs it has. BTR you say? I thought it was a baug warner? (Or are they the same? :? )

There is a doco on AFF or aufalcon.com for the AU ones.

I think the 3-speeds were made by Borg warner and the 4-speeds by BTR, or its the same company but changed their name, or some weird crap like that.
I made my own shift kit for about $20 all up including buying a soldering iron. Had a bit of trouble installing it but its running awesome now.
I leave it on firm shift for a "sportier" feel (for the lack of a better term) without putting too much stress on the box.
