Gday all.
Got an ED fairmont and disconnected the negative of the battery while doing changes to the sound system. Now when its all hooked up and s**t the can wont and smart lock light flashes faster rate. Called costanzo ford and they said leave key in on position for 30 mins then take key out, put it back in and then it should be apples, but tried that twice and its still not workin. Last attempt in the lcouple of minutes the indicators started flashing in time with the smartlock light and the battery light but still nothing. Any ideas please
cheers

did you stuff around with the wires behind stereo ???

if you did there's 2 green and yellow wires that BOTH need to be connected to battery i think ,if you havnt touched the wires, its leave it on reds ,or acc cant remember and then turn it over after 30mins ,not take the key out ,or it could be your smartlock modual, which i have a spare if it turns out to be that ,also try hitting above the handbreak, cause that's where the smartlock modual is ,

hope that helps

yeh if you cut the plug behind the stereo off, or something similar, the green and yellow wires need to be connected to each other i think. happened in my mates EB last year and took us ages to work out.

also check the interior light fuse... we've had heaps of EF/EL's get towed in with smartlock non starting issues and it turned out to be a blown fuse on the interior light circuit. Im not sure if this applies to EBII/ED's also but its just a thought.
Does it flash in a sequence ie. an error code?
if it does
count the number of flashes in a group and ill check my EB/ED workshop manual for u
