what the best way to change the spark plug leads on a el???? should i jack the car up? or try and do it front under the bonnet??? what tools are required? thanks

This is the way i did it on my EL.

1) Remove airbox and intake snorkel
2) Number leads with a felt tip pen.
3) Unplug all the leads from spark plugs and 1 from the coil.
4) Unclip dizzy cap and move it towards the front of the engine with loose leads still attached.
5) Now attach all your new leads to the dizzy cap and mark them with a pen and put the heat shield plastic on cyl1,2,3 and then around 4,5,6.
6) Now put a draw wire (i used some electrical insulated earth cable) down through no5-6 intake plenium and out towards the dizzy cap. Now tape all the leads up to the draw wire and pull up through the intake plenium.
7) Remove tape, plug all leads in, atach coil lead and clip down dizzy cap.
9) Put airbox and snorkel back in.

Finished... Should take about 30mins...

do it on a COLD ENGINE!!! -no one like's burnt hands and arms.... :roll:

remove the...

Air box..
snorkel..
thermo fans..

with those things done the job aint quite the nightmare it usualy is... :wink:
