might? it will also give you a lot of errors that dont make sense.

i'd be looking for the error code for the engine running lean. how many k's has the car done? with the gas, it might be time for that new oxy sensor

the car has done roughly 240 000km's and as of last night (very cold night) a pretty violent shake has developed from the engine, this occured mostly while slowing down and in the lower rev range it would some times last a few seconds when the car was sitting idle before it stop. I havnt yet had a chance to change the leads or oxy sensor but im not sure if this could be something much more serious.

I went and bought leads today, they should hopefully be in tomorrow before midday as well as the oxy sensor. Ill also be hunting down a gregorys workshop manual since ive been spending so much time under the bonnet lately and and i cant say im really too confident but hey, gotta learn some how lol. Also i got quoted $70 each for EL injectors (seems a bit steep) and i was wondering how much a set of recos would cost or mayb how much to reco the ones that i got now aswell sumwhere to find em. Anyways ill put sumthing up tomorrow when its all done and let ya's know. Cheers guys

hey guys managed to get the leads on yesterday (whilst standing in my driveway yelling at my car for a couple of hours lol). It seemed to make an improvement in the idle and that violent shake has stopped but I think more needs to be done. I plan on putting the new oxy sensor in on the weekend, i had a quick look in the gregor but couldnt find a good description on how to change, any help appreciated guys.
Cheers

oxy sensor is a peice of wee (i know cos if i can do it anyone can)

you found where it is? (coming out of the exhaust manifold) it can just be taken out by a spanner (i want to say 18mm not sure why, but you'll figure out which one to use) its an easy job.

once you've undone it from the manifold, you'll notice its clipped in to another cable, simple process of pressing the button, pulling apart, then replace the new oxy sensor so its in the same place as the old

Replace your plugs and leads first, (use ngk plugs)
you should be able to get your injectors serviced for about $30 each, and they will be able to tell you if any are faulty.
Do one thing at a time.

But at 30 bux eacy some h to reco my injectors wouldnt it be cheaper to just buy some reco injectors? was quoted round 70 each for new, also would any one know of any one know of any places in sydney to find someone to reco or sell some reco'd jectors?
sorry guys if im not makin much sense, too many jimmys tonight lol.

Cheers

hey guys, it took me a while but i finally got to replacing the oxy sensor today, I took it out for a drive and it was driving a bit better (idle was a lot less volatile aswell), after driving for a bit though i thought id try switching over to petrol to see how it went, probly not a good a idea, it was struggling just too move at all and didnt sound too great, i put my foot down a bit (bad idea) and heard a pop coming from the engine bay . Now after I switched it back too LPG it felt ok to drive but when I got on the brakes and the revs dropped to 1500 n under that violent shake came back. The engine shakes and the revs drop to just about 0 for a second before the revs start to pick up again and it goes back to normal. weird i know.
any way if any of yas have any ideas theyd be appreciates.
cheers guys

sounds too me like idle mixture for LPG is just a tad lean.... what plugs did you fit??

did you gap them to .9 for lpg they run a closer gap than petrol. use XR6 plugs too as the are 1 heat range colder and suit LPG better

if you have a AU I6 use NGK BPY6ES 0.9 as specified for Tickford LPG works a treat

AU99, I cant remember exactly which model number they where but they were NGK specified for EL and no i didnt gap them, any ways I just disconnected the MAP sensor and took it for a drive the drive wasnt as smooth but that damn shake was gone so when i got home I had another look and noticed the hose from the BBM to the sensor was disconnected so i plugged it back in and plugged the sensor back in and took it out again that shake came back but not nearly as much the odd thing is i took it round the block a few times and the only place were it would do it was going down a hill, any how does it look like a fead MAP sensor? if so ive got one off an EB so will it fit?
Cheers guys
