It wouldn't mater either way. It won't make any difference to how much power it makes.

Redback 200cpsi metal high flow round body cat. but since im on my p plates i havent put it on yet. :D but this 2.5inch redback catback system just alone by itself has a mean meaty note to it. 2 mufflers. im loving it. stainless oval tip. worked out pretty good. plus the jacks are bastards in this area.

Yeah, I thought considering how much he was paying would want to make sure he atleast had a metal core one and wasn't competely getting a** raped.

$480 installed isn't what i'd call getting a** raped. Wasting money on the cat is kind of like a** raping your self though.

Make money for exhaust manufacturers. the only reason I can see for putting in a metal cat is when you are throwing alot more power through an exhaust, and need to upsize. I'm still running stock cats on my XR8. I will only upgrade if they collapse, otherwise it isn't work spending the money on then IMHO.

Because on other cars they can be useful.

The I6 falcons on the other hand have a pretty decent factory cat and unless it blocked it's a waste of time and money replacing it. Even more so if your only plans for the car is an exhaust, headers and intake.

pacemaker 4480's or 4499's next? once i get a bit of dosh that is. the car now sounds off chops even with the rear resinator on. love it ;) the bloke highly recommended redback or lukey exhausts for the EF's n EL's and he's spot on. always got that spare cat if i need it atleast.

imo, if your doing the whole exhaust on an old car, then a new cat is a smart buy regardless if it only adds 0.3 hp

why replace everything then leave the old cat in there to fall to bits later down the track
