yer i was hoping sum1 cud help me out when eva u start up me car the belts squeil well i think itz tha belts but i took off the power steering and the ac belts n yet it still sqieuled so i was thinkin maybe it was the crank pully or the alternater ne who nos ne think wud b great

you can buy a non slip belt spray from any auto joint that will do it if its oil or grease causing the slip

my guess is the alternator belt, them C*** always come loose for me.... but its good in a way, teaches you to warm up your car a bit before driving :wink:

yea i got the same problem, my alternator belt is fine, but im thinking starter motor coz its only just after the engine kicks over for a few seconds???
Would this be rite?
or just the bearing in the alternator going south?

hang on a sec, it might be the same as my mate on his VT. When it starts, it makes a distinctly loud sqeaking sound. The mechanic said it was the starter motor.

pull all the belts off and start it see if it still does it.
then check your idle pulleys/bearings then belts

Yes, another vote for alternator belt.

Our ED does it also, but you have to revv it to get a squeal, and then after the squeal, the belt grips, and you can see the voltage gage come up from 10 to a little over 12...

i had same problem mate, had it tight as a nuns p***y and steal squealed, so i bought a different brand belt and no more noise
