As stated above. It will be for an XR6 N/A.

Initially I was going to get a Typhoon Intake but after reading some posted I've heard that the SS Induction kit is really good but is about 2 times more than the Typhoon Intake? Which then brings the Growler Kit to slightly more expensive than the SS Induction?

So which one would give more 'bang for your buck'? I'm looking for something that will give my engine a deeper tone and better overall performance compared to the stock intake.

Thanks,
Jova.

Hey mate

Just to first off clarify the growler kit is made by ss inductions, i am assuming you are meaning the ss inductions big mouth kit which is a big scoop that sits above the radiator and plumbs into your stock airbox. The growler replaces the entire stock airbox and uses a pod filter instead of a panel. I have fitted the growler to my BF and it made my exhaust much louder, plus the other reason I went for it is i wanted to get rid of the stock airbox look that the big mouth or the phoon mod uses. If you have the funds go for it i say :-)

Big mouth - http://www.ssinductions.com.au/products ... ction.html

Growler - http://www.ssinductions.com.au/products ... ction.html

Cheers

Phil

Oh yeah sorry my bad. I did mean the big mouth.
Money is kind of a problem because I still need to get myself a full exhaust system, springs, rims and tune so I want to save as much money as possible.

How much are the Growler Kits compared to the Big Mouth and Typhoon Intakes? And if the performance increase isn't that great between them then I'd prefer to go for the cheaper one. Mainly though I want it to look at stock as possible because I'm still on my P's and from Melbourne. (Which I guess isn't a good think with the Growler.)

Seems you have answered your own question there mate :-), go with the typhoon intake. Its the most stock looking one and the cheapest, The difference between the growler and phoon isnt huge so if money is tight dont worry about growler.

Complete poon setup through FTG i believe are $150ish? - best to ask them or just buy the upper intake and cut your own box to fit the lower intake
Big Mouth scooop - $250ish
Growler - $450ish

They are just rough prices but gives you an idea

Hmm, I could go $250 for the Big Mouth. $450 for an intake seems quite steep though.
Hows the Big Mouth size up (no pun intended lol) against the other 2? Seems like it's the one in the middle out of the 3.

Did you check the web links i posted - there is a pic on there plus check this thread, lots of intake ideas in there, i thought i saw a big mouth pic in there but cbf looking through the all pages

ford-4l-and-6-cylinder-f1/show-us-your-air-intake-t70357.html

The other thing is even with the big mouth you should still get a high flow k&n panel filter for your stock airbox to help with the flow

Edit - Ahh found it - search is your friend mate - use it :-)

I just took a look through all the threads. Both seem to give better throttle response and neither give the acclaimed 15rwkw that SS Inductions say. So I figure bottom line is extra $200 for a slightly better sounding intake which personally I don't think matters to much once an exhaust system is fitted.
Plus the Growler doesn't look stock at all and I reckon the Big Mouth looks tough as.
Looks like I've made my choice :).

Thanks guys.

Maybe consider a full exhaust before spending on th intake, u will notice more power from the exhaust

How would I do that? Can you give me a link of a previous thread?
