My engine is often stalling when i come to a complete halt. It also hesitates sometimes when i go to accelerate, and can also pulse.
Any suggestions?

Check standard stuff?
Plugs, leads, ISC.
Do you have trouble starting?

Could be a million things, think about what has not been maintained in a while, all the above are good suggestions :)

I put the motor in a few hundred click's ago and the problem was occasional and minor at first and has got worse. The engine has done around 110k, and my guess is the injectors are untouched. I fitted new plugs and fuel filter, the dizzy contacts and ISC were cleaned up, the leads aren't too old, and premium fuel has been used (LPG is not running yet). Fuel efficiency has been very good.

I did the timing myself including a lot of testing and at worst it might be a fraction advanced. There isn't any pinging though.

I was careful fitting all the vac lines, i did find one not so good a few days ago and fixed it, but the problem is no different. The car starts fine, but recently takes an extra rotation. When i fitted the engine i got the fuel lines around the wrong way and did a fair amount of turning over before i fixed them, i don't know if this might hurt the fuel reg or cause some kind of contamination issue (?). HEGO is old, probably 225k.

I ran a couple of bottles of redline fuel system cleaner through my ef that was hesitating and almost stalling when you pull up and now its much better.

I just spoke to my dad and he has had the same problem and found injector cleaner to work. It seems that might be a good thing to try. If it doesn't work, maybe i should get the injectors removed and professionally cleaned?

The HEGO and/or a blocked cat cause similar symptoms.

Okay, maybe try injector cleaner first, then if no good try new hego, then if no good try cleaned injectors? I made a visual check of the cat when i had it off and couldn't see any bits of ceramic or anything?
