yeah no problem mate.

it's easy to see that the XR6 cam IS different. despite what some cam companies might try and tell you.

it's not different by much but it was enough to make a difference.

it also seems that the tickford guys took into account we would still want good fuel consumption.

by consentrating more on the exhaust side of things they got the power and economy. we all know the tickford head has bigger exhaust valves now we know the cam has different timing as well. that along with the factory 2.5 inch exhaust system.

so with minimal changes to the intake yet some slightly more agresive to the exhaust we got more power and a wider torque curve.

the entire tickford enhancment of the XR6 engine was completly based around reducing pumping loses in the engine. in other words the less power needed to push out exhaust gases, the more power for your wheels to put to the ground.

sorry for getting off topic, i just found it interesting and thought other people might too

edited due to me being wrong  perhaps i should read the info a little more carfuly

Correct me if I am wrong, but it looks to me like the duration is the same all they have done is advance the cam timing?????

accutaly we are both wrong. but you're more right then me. :(

the duration of both inlet and exhaust are the same for both cams.

they only changed the timing. but the intake timming changes by 2 degrees and the exhaust timing changes by 4 degrees. so it is a different cam not just an advanced cam.

cam dynamics relate to far more than just lift and duration figures, allthough the figures look the same on paper, they are very different in reality. This is due to the lobe area and flank profile. Cams are a science not respected enough and simplified too far to make reasonable comparisons
