Hi,
I started the car to warm it up, as i do every time i drive.
And i heard a loud ticking noise. like the chain was slapping till the oil pressure built up.
this lasted about 3-5 secs.
After this i noticed the spanner on the dash.

Now i know it means a service, but will changing the plugs, oil, oil filter
remove the spanner? or do i have to do something to remove it?

thanks

EF fairmont. just hit 190k's

Welcome to the forums.

To turn off the service light you hold down the trip reset button for 10 seconds while switching the ignition into the "on" position... at least I think that's how you do it.

No the ECU cannot sense when it has had a plug / oil & oil filter change... unfortunately they didn't build it that smart.

Cheers

To remove the service reminder, press and hold the Trip Reset button for 10 seconds.

Isn't it written on the oil filler cap? Obvious place to look for it I guess.
