Hi all, a friend of mine has just goten a EB Ford Falcon 4.0ltr Auto, the starter motor in it was dead so thay have put a new one in it from the wreckers, now when the key is turned the starter motor spins and makes a ticking sound but dusnt engage the motor, my thorts on this is that thay havnt lined the startor up proply when installing but i could be wrong, what do you guys think it could be? hope to have a reply any help would be good :) .

another dodgy starter i reckon

two bolts hold it in mate... you'd find it almighty hard to get "out of alignment"...

if it ticks it sound like the solenoid ticking as though you have a flat battery or dirty connections... If not I'd would suspect a wrong starter (came from a different vehicle) or a dead starter motor...

yer mine does it heaps but i put a xf 1 in my eb i just wait till it stops spining and go again then its fine
