My Ford Falcon AU has a steering wheel fitted airbag in the driver's seat.

I want to fit one of those steering wheels that dont have air bags in it.

Is this legal?

And how expensive would it be to get this done?

Any help will be great!

I see, how about if I get a new leather steering wheel fitted (with new airbag).

How much would this cost roughly?

I have access to a new wheel but not the airbag yet, so what I was planning to do was install the new leather steering wheel, but fit the airbag later?? Is this possible.. many many thanks

Lol very good way of putting it.

Definately save yourself the drama and put the airbag in with the new wheel. If you have the money get an AU Momo wheel, they're nice and chunky, a bit expensive though. Then get yourself a black airbag and it'll look mint.

sweet, thanks

Now to try and figure out how to pull the wheel off, i'm still trying to find the Steering Wheel Retaining Torque Bolt

I figured out where the retaining the screws were for the airbag though

It should be the main bolt/screw in the middle of the steering wheel. Its kinda like a star shape, called a T50 Torx screw.

Have you read this?
http://www.fordmods.com/documents.php?d=72

If not, i suggest you read that first before you attempt taking the wheel off. It has some good info in there especially when it comes to removal of that main T50 torx screw.

Its for EF/EL but it should be the similar if not the same as the AU, as the wheels are interchangable

How much is a Ford Falcon/Fairmont leather steering wheel worth?
