Hi all,

was wondering who would win betweens stock auto EL Fairmont I6 and stock auto VY commodore 3.8 s-pac. They seem to be of similar power/weight.. A mate of mine thinks his VY S-pac can kill wrx's in-gear lol...

hahahahhahaha i think your mate is full of it or the wrx driver was teasing him.
the vy will probably win if both are stock standard, unless it's a rolling start.

It will be pretty even. If one did come out in front, it would be by bugger all. VY's aren't the best in the acceleration department. Nothing special at all. Don't be intimidated becuase it's an "S" either. "S" certainly doesn't mean "sporty". If anything, it means "s**t"

If your mate had said that he has beaten a WRX off the line, I may have believed him. But in gear? Keep dreaming

a VY S pack wont get near a WRX off the line or in gear, those things are little rockets. Your mates got his hand in his pockets and his pants are shaking.

my friend had a WRX and he was coming bak from a thing in Glenelg and was going about 25km/h and wrote it off. He hit a stobie poll (for all u non SAers its the same as a telegraph pole) and what happened was it poped the windscreen out, the motor basically fell out and moved back a meter so that it was in the dash and the whole thing was a mess. He was very lucky to get out unharmed as well as the kids.

But what amazes me is that the WRX has all this s**t on the RX such as intercooler, turbo, better brakes, the works but they weight around the same even with a few 100 kilos extra weight. How do they do that. The chassis is made of a thinner metal then RX that was it crumples eaiser.

There is this race track where u can take your car for the day and do a few laps. They have banned WRXs because they kept crashing and peopl would die. They are a biscuit tin and a death trap. Lucky we own mighty Falcons. Real cars.

I have here a VY Berlina and EF Fairmont, both stock standard.. I reckon chunkz is right on, Commo off the line then Falcon's top end will bring it back over the quarter. The 3.8 V6 is a seriously nasty engine at the top end.

dude i was palying around with a wrx the other night, ive got a ef ex cop i6 with exhaust extractors k&n and the kick a*** shift kit from neds, the wrx had very similar except he has a turbo ( he's a mate) and even with the shift kit on the best i could get was a car length behind him from standing start. so in conclusion ya mate with the commondore is full of s**t like most holden drivers sorry :D

what u guys need to remember is that there are rex's out there that are 12 years old which means quite a few probably have well over 200 000kms which is alot if theyve lived a hard life, and thus wont go like they used to
