Yeah, I know, this is a retarded question but I'm asking anyway. Been inhaling petrol fumes all day (f**k valvoline and their faulty f**k fuel filter) so I'm not all here...

Anyways: PS fan belt in my crap EB desperately needs doing, can't for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong. there's a pulley smack bang in the middle behind the fan; I lust loosen that bugger off and away she goes isn';t it? Damn things is tighter than a fishe's backside, even with a socket I'm burring the head on the thing. It's not a fancy reverse threaded doodad is it?

Hi

You need to undo the big nut first. This loosens the smaller adjustment nut.

While i've only done my power steering belt on the old motor, just wanna let you know how the tensioner works (from memory)

Theres 2 nuts on it.. the center (smaller one) is the one you use to tension it. The bigger one (on the outside) is where you actually lock/tighten the pulley in position.

When you do it up you lightly tighten up the big (outside one) and then turn the middle one and it'll creep up the mount, then you tighten the big one a little more, repeat until its tensioned !
