I do know the difference. Maybe you need to spend some more time googling so you will too? A centrifugal supercharged 6 will get shat on from great heights by a turbo 6 running a stock turbo in both power and boost response. Hell even my M112 charged engine wasn't as responsive as my turbo one. Maybe you can google M112 while you're at it and find out about the different kinds of superchargers. |

The f6 is a great car and in the next few years i hope to park one right next to the gt i also admire but till then...... Glad you told me about this business mate had actually never heard of them. Much appreciated, the rotrex s.c sounds a far more superior product over the vortech. Have you had much experience with the rotrex? Got one on an AU2 XR6 ute making 215rwkw on 10.5psi. No drama's with the blower!

How do you gain knowledge by paying a workshop to fit and tune it?

the m112 will provide boost across the entire rpm band , dans supercharged setup was running only 5 psi with questionable tune ??
turbo will provide more hp/torque and better fuel economy for the same boost level in my experience but the p/d superchargers can also be setup to preform well you need to plan this out very well as any kind of conversion will cost $$ , finding a tuner for the p/d blower seems to be more the issue

Love my FG stock turbo.... thought about being different, decided against it. I know that i have a fast, comfortable and reliable set up, and could do the usual mods and be hitting low 11 second quarters.
My advice would be to either do as Dan had said, just dump in a FG Turbo engine, or trade to a Turbo and move the rest of your stuff over. In saying that, if you do decide to supercharge it, create a build thread and i will watch with interest... would be a cool project. |

i blew off a so called 12 second wrx when i had my fg xr6 yet mine was stock. i would go with a supercharger in all honesty, the power is on tap anytime everytime whereas the turbo has to build up, i know there are alot of fights over which is best but it's all to a persons personal taste, if you wanna do something unique go supercharged and turbocharged, there was a guy here with an old datsun that had a turbo and a supercharger on an old 2ltr l20b and it crapped all over the v6 commies kept up with the v8's but losta bit of power after 4500rpm.

see i have always wanted to supercharge a six just to see how well it respond and the Orion motor is pretty tough As it is. I have a hand over price of thirteen on an xr6 turbo Ute at moment but i could get this supercharged for 8 however bye bye warranty i guess it will all depend on how im feeling come decision day As i am still a few dollars off either option. Thanks guys will def post a build thread if i do it though!

In all honesty you are posting utter generalised crap. Aside from the fact it doesn't appear you know that there is more than one type of supercharger you have obviously never driven or been in a properly set up turbo falcon if you think they are laggy.

see what i mean about supercharger and turbo fights. i couldnt care less about which is better it all comes down to personal taste, and yes i have driven a turbo falcon and yes it was setup properly and yes i wouldnt buy one.
