personally because of the luck that fords have with heads i never rev my engine over 5g, usually change at about 4500 if i want to push it.

Just stay safe with 4500 mate

Speak for yourself, my Ba hits max power at about 4.8 and pretty much stays the same till 5.8 which is where they revved it to on the dyno.

Hard cut is at 6k.

ps. Ba's have no "redline" :)

From memory, XF's Redline @ 4500rpm
EA-ED - 5000rpm
EF-AU 5500rpm

But your right, XF's don't have much more go in them after ~4500rpm..

I wouldnt try and rev an XF motor past 4500 my mates old LTD used to struggle to go past 4600 and then started missing and valve bouncing around 5000 and had all different colours out the exhaust only had 145.000 on the clock as well... I wouldnt go much above 4000.

OsbornThomas mate dont be worried to rev an EF or later motor lol... my old EL motor in my first fairmont lived on the limiter... I would smash the limiter for 2 minutes in skids (Private road) Had it on 4000-5700 for half an hour on QLD raceway and it never missed a beat. No gasket s**t or anythin like that but SLIGHT lifter noise on startup! That motor i had prob done 50,000km of total thrashing in and never used any oil etc Always kept up with services though.

Same as my AU motor now Loves the revs lol
