I was talkin to cab drivers recently on my trips to and from airport. They all have the same opinion.....

They reckon the BA is a s**t car. Too many problems. They say the EL or the AU are just so reliable and robust. They say just change the oil in those cars and go for ever. For the money you pay to get one they are unbeatable value.

This is at least 5 cab drivers who share this opinion. They would know, they do more km than any of us and see the problems with the cars.

what do you guys reckon???

Well that's good to hear. I'm not sure about the many problems of the BA, but dang they seem to have a thirst.

think of the BA as a brand new EA... EB and ED were significantly more refined cars (as the BF is to the BA) so i can believe that the EL & AU were a more robust car, they've had a lot of updates here and there over the years ;)

Must be why quite a few Melbourne cabs are now BA Fairlanes. 8-) I work at a hotel here, and all of the taxi drivers I've spoken too say only good things about the BA. And all of the taxi's I've seen here at the hotel entrance, have been Fords. I've not seen 1 single Commodore taxi on my watch, and only a couple of AU's in amongst that lot.
Got anything else for us EB V8. Something we can get our teeth into perhaps???

He says that later series of cars are better. Like ED>EB>EA. And naturally BF>BA.

But EF go against the rules, and procede to own all EL's (even the GT) and all AU's(though au's don't count because even XF's>AU's)

So EF's>EL/AU 8-)

the ef are just a progression of the ea/eb/ed, albeit with pretty extensive sheet metal and interior changes.
