Hi guys, just wondering is it possible to effectively clean the tappets on my EF 4 litre while leaving them atttached to the car? There noisy as when the car is cold.

nope
u can use an engine flush whcih may help but 90% of us here have noisy tappets when the cars are cold as the oil has drained from them

just change them they are easy to do, depending on how machenicly minded you are should only take an hour of two... you can get lifters at bersons, repco etc.. for between $14-$20 ea..
