when doing my headgasket the one thing I over looked was setting the engine to TDC...

but.. if I have cable tied the chain to the sproket.. and haven't moved anything..

the cam will bolt back up to the spoket by the locating dowel and everything should be as it was right?

so whats all the fuss about setting it to TDC then? :?

If nothing moves that its no big deal. If something does move or you find you need to do more work on the engine then its good to have everything in the right place.

Setting it to TDC is just a backup plan. If nothing moves you wont have a problem.
