my temp guage is doing all sorts of weird s**t, i won't go past the blue markings and if it does, it starts to twitch... any ideas?
i was told it could just be a loose wire behind the dash if so how do i take it all apart?

loose wire or bad earth, bad earth could be anywhere including under bonnet surprisingly. Gauges have been known to play up if the earth lead from the batery is not connected well.

common problem

currently on my car too

found its the plug under the thermostat housing on the sensor.

my advice, get a second hand plug or new one and cut/resolder the new ones on (with heatshrink so do a neat job of it!) and it'll work fine

its nothing major but it just ends up making your fans go nutty ..
