I'm pretty sure you should be able to test it on the block by using a multimeter in the impedance setting, and put one probe (hehe probe) on the senders terminal, and one on the neg somewhere, and test off, and then test whilst engine is running and compare to repair manual specs.

Pretty sure my manual has it, i'l;l have a look

EDIT: Sorry i lie, it appears my manual does not have that reading in ohms. :(
