Hey guys, not a technical question or anything like that, just wanted to know what you's thought about Ford stopping production of the I6 at the end 2010 and what yous think of the american donk that'll be replacing it.
(personally i think its tragic, long live the I6!!)

From what I have heard... Correct me if I am wrong as it only the word on the STREET...

That the new engine will be a cheaper V6 configuration.. If this is so does anybody know what the specs will be..?

And yes I agree a sad sad end to the mighty I6.. That is what makes the mighty ford might, it places it on the mantle with other greats like the Supra and Skyline..

Specs are yet to be confirmed, but expect a 3.7L version of the 3.5L V6 currently available.

As for will this be the end of the world. It'll be a sad day (I'm tossing up whether to buy a 'last run' I6 FPV F6 or see if the new V8 also due in 2010 is any good), but not earth shattering. The new V6 (esp with turbos) will be fine.

Long live the I6 i say.
the torque from a v6 just doesn't cut the mustard!
Almost every 6cly truck has a i6. its all from down low. look at the stump pulling f6, try and get that torque from a v6.
as in someone else's signature (sorry cant remember who)
"HP wins dyno days, Torque wins races!"

I will be very interesting to the twin turbo version..

But when ever I think of a V6 i think of a Commonwhore, Camry or a Magna..

I might have to go shopping with data_mine and get me a F6..
