Did you check the O2 sensors using the battery as Gnd reference with a meter? - if they are way out you may have a ground problem. Often happens after an engine swap.

I would never have guessed that my idle issue was a bung power steering switch.. got that replaced and its idling much better now...

as for running ritch ulta-tune couldnt do much about it. they said its computer related so im going to take it to CVE in skye to get a j3 dyno tune for it..

I think thats ultra tunes way of saying "f**k if i know". It's very rare to have a faulty ECU. The ECU can only work with the information given to it by the engine sensors. There are also things like fuel pressure that are not monitored, Crap in will = crap out. Having a tune done while there is 'crap' going in will only result in a less than accurate tune. Then one day you'll change some thing and it will fix the problem that the tune covered up. This will make your car run s**t again and you'll be wondering whats wrong with it. |

ultra tune is a name, they wouldnt know s**t.
bet its a vac leak, really bad earth, fuel reg, faulty connection. no way its the computer

I posted this in another thread earlier - check the following:
there is a grey earth wire that bolts onto the block near the dizzy, ensure it hasnt broken off, Alternatively test with a multimeter the resistance between pin 49 of the ECU connector (with ECU unplugged) to the engine block, on ohms range and it should be 0.0 or very close to it. |

yea i suppose.
Ive heard alot of good things about CVE performance, and been told they really know what they are on about. so i think its worth giving them a go. plus they are only 25 mins from my home. So that is booked in for tomorrow.. so hopefully things will be sweet after that |

as for mods ive had a tickford engine conversion.. so im guessing that would change things a bit

xr6 engines run different fuel regulator ( higher pressure ) did you swap out the ecu also?
its possible the xr6 fuel regulator running higher fuel pressure could be the cause of you problems did you try swapping back to your original fuel rail?

The difference is stuff all (300kpa vs 270kpa), the fuel reg and miss matched ECU is not your problem.
