was doin a bit of work on the EB yesterday and noticed a few things, maybe some one might be able to help me with....

1. when ever i start her up she starts fine, first go every time. She idles at about 750-850 and purrs pretty much. but when i give her a bit of stick in neutral she squeels something shocking. checked and replaced all belts cleaned up the pulleys and still did it. was thinking maybe the clutch in the stock thermo fan???? any one got any ideas

2. next was doing some elec checks and battery check. seemed a bit off so i went and got a new battery. gave 12V+ both wen car is on and off. battery discharges slowly but nothing drastic. replaced all leads to the alternator (batt, fuseable link, and warning globe and wire) and gave it a good clean up. tried again and had same problem but wen i gave her some stick it finally went up to 14-16V+!!!! did this 3 or 4 times and still same result. Think my alternator is knackered or something else????

also just out of curiosity any one has any one taken an angle grinder to the engine bay of their car and had any probs??? is it safe????

hahaha the angle grinder is coz im thinkin of puttin the batt in the boot on my other car (also an eb). attempting to build an 11sec or less EB need to run cooler piping down where the batt usually is and was gonna cut the batt mount out, but didnt want to take the motor out again...

thanks heaps ill check those things out

sounds like a loose alternator belt.
tighten it and re-check voltage with a multimeter, NOT THE FACTORY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER VOLTAGE GAUGE!
