the only time in the I6 ohc history the V8 had the upper hand..

My god man! Was that an admission? That under actual comparable circumstances, the difference between the stock six and stock eight were apparent to you? You must of been gritting your teeth and clenching your cheeks typing that. I'd check for burst capillaries...

but just for you here is the AU V8

total 1569 @.500" 1344 @ .300"

happy now one model of car where the windsor and I6 ohc were the engines the V8 was better

but you stillhave piss weak block, it's like ohhh 500hp CRACK

Lol. I should have guessed you would somehow offset an unappealing fact with a negative.
But hey for a stock motor with a block design that's older than me, that's impressive.

I seem to be noticing a trend here. Tickford_6 always seems to be right.
But half a dozen other people are disagreeing. I'm starting to see a pattern here. 6:1, hmm i guess the 6 other people would be wrong then, of course.
Yes of course i am upset in my own confusion, i had a cry all night about it. At least other people on here, don't always have to be right 100% of the time. Even if everyone who has contributed to this post disagrees with yourself.
500hp through the block, and how many people who are achieveing those figures would give a rats a***. The gearbox and clutch would have s**t themselves by that stage, and 500hp, wont just be made from just a blower or stroker. Thats some serious mumbo.
Enjoy your head gaskets on a 147-157kw car!

Your right the ef 5.0l was a 165kw engine or 260hp at the fly wheel according to ford. Although the i6 has good power gains for little outlay the 8 if you make the sucker breath will will tear the doors off a good 6 pack.

O.K. so after 5 pages of mostly off-topic s**t :), do we all agree that in EF/EL Ghia form, the 162kw I6 is, in fact, faster than the 165kw V8???

Nope, cause now the V8 has the same diff ratio, so i reckon its too close to call.
Stock, XR6's will be quicker, because of the diff compared to the XR8's.

1 off my mates had a i6 ea falcon and another mate had a x cop ef v8, the ea was slower to about 90kph then the 4l made it look like it was going in reverse

Idon't think there would be anything in it.
So i don't think the 6's or the 8's in this category have bragging rights.

Ford are still confused even now. They always said the 5.4 would remain the BOSS of performance vehicles, then the 6 speed auto BF typhoon rapes a GT - and bang for buck mods is crazy. I heard of a bloke posting a 13.1 in a 6 speed BF (auto) with nothing more than an aftermarket panel filter. Crazy.
I love v8s, but ford just don't know how to build them... or shuold I say don't know how to build the right chassis and get the right power to the ground.
As much as it kills me to say it, if I was in the market for a v8 its holden ls/ls2 all the way, no competition.

I second that.. but I'd rather a XR6T w/6spd auto over any V8... it's just crazy performance.
