I have a question for anyone who has the Tickford LPG setup!

I am currently installing LPG in my AU 5.0 Lane, i am using the original fuel guage setup with a factory switch in place of the door lock switch.

What i was wondering is what they use as an indicator to tell you which fuel you're on?

I was hoping with mine being AU that it had the indicator i could wire up in the cluster, but i think that was only for low series dedicated LPG.

I went this way to have a neat setup without an added guage and switch in the dash, i don't really want to add an LED somewhere as an indicator but i might not have a choice.

I'm picking up the AU factory switch today, if it doesn't have the light i'll do something different with it.

As i thought, it doesn't have the light... time to make something for it.
But it may be ok, the button pops out and in when switched, just have to remember which is in and out lol.

i just re-read your post and for e-series its the little led next to switch but for au's every time the car is started or the fuel changed it displays lpg then after 3 or so seconds converts back to distance to empty, i think other wise its trip odo, on the left bottom of dash lcd.

how you work that into the system i don't know.

Its on LPG when the button is in and is on petrol when the button is out. Also as someone said before, when you start your car and its on LPG, the letters LPG will actuially display on your odometera few seconds (can also toggle between distance to empty, travelled kms and/or LPG by quicklyu pushing the odometer reset button. Just hold it to reset kms). Also the standard gauge reads both LPG and petrol so you dopn't need the d**k LED gauge like the E series guys.

Didn't know that. Every e series cab I've seen must have an aftermarket installation.

To use the normal guage in an eseries u use a 0-176 ohm sender on the tank, and run an 87/87a Realay, u use gas power to turn the realy on, so that it when powered, will run the signal from the tank to the cluster/ or when un powered the Signal from the petrol tank to the cluster...

All pretty basic realy

Yeah the basic after market guage and switch looks d**k... so i bought the module to run the lpg guage through the cluster.

From what i have found the high series cluster doesn't have the LPG signal in the LCD of the cluster.

I'll come up with something... thanks for the help guys.
