The Autolite plug looks the same as an NGK BRE527Y-11's. Same as what was used from XF to ED I6's.

I know sfa about plugs, so which would be the better plug.

Also I'm under the impression that mock uses dodge viper plugs are those the same thing.

From Jim Mock Article;

After trying all sorts of spark plugs (all of which caused detonation), JMM finally settled on a particular Autolite plug. Originally these plugs were shipped to them by mistake and, as it happened, they worked! Screwing them in saw an instant 4kW gain. According to Brendan, "using the right plugs is like adding a couple of extra degrees of timing without actually doing it."

I don't think there would be a measurable difference in power gain between say autolites and cheap NGK plugs? Suppose they go into the head further, maybe a little bit better combustion.

maybe 2 or 3mm only reason i didn't show that plug is because i don't have any.

So you could probably just run standard BRE527Y-11 plug on the EF/EL's and achieve JMM claimed 4rwkw gain. Considering the only benefit I can see is the extra length inside the combustion chamber.

Must of been a reason why Ford went for a less protruding plug in EF/EL's?

That is quite a bit. I wonder why Ford went to a shorter protrusion in the EF/EL/AU????

the xr6 plug(ZGR6B-11) looks the same as the 985, with its extra long projection.

the denso plug looks the same as the standard BPR5EY-11

If I'm using a plug with a 6 as the heat range indicator and their fouling should I go to a 5 or a 7?
