I have an LS1 as you all know. When I had the LS1 edit, they said the torque management software was killing the performance. This is all turned off at edit time.

Would the EL Ghia (and all other e series 6's) have similar safety systems that rob performance? ie knock sensor retard, cat protection etc etc.

Would this sort of stuff wind back the power? Be robbing us of performance?

How do we reset the computer or delete these settings or start afresh. You know what i mean...

Im sure this would be an issue for us all...

Torque reduction is only an issue in these cars if something isnt working properly... trans, ecu etc.

To reset the temp memory in the ECU just disconnect the battery for a while.

wow! a thread thats useful!!

Me having an EF fairmont with the I6 makes me interested to know aswell..

-how about if its a 5spd?? like mine (converted)

spark managment?
timing managment?
fuel delivery managment??

obviously not throttle body limiting performance as they are mechanically operated.. (cable) unlike the BA/BF which are electric and i think have some sort of performance inhibiting "safety software" incorperated as a way of "power inhibitor".. -correct me if im wrong..

The E-series auto's have a small amount of spark related torque reduction in 1st gear only.
