Gday all,

I've made inquiry's about transmission coolers to keep my new camshaft from wearing my auto too quick. And for a big AU-BA trans cooler im up for $170 plus $60 an hour for installation. Now this is the cheapest price i found.

My question is...once the auto goes cactus, im going for a manual transmission, so does a manual trans need a trans cooler, with an engine that has a performance camshaft?
Because if not, i'd be better off saving my money for the manual when the time comes.

Any thoughts?

cheers, Matt

no manual gearboxes dont have coolers (they have no pumps anyway).

Also this should be in the driveline workshop

the addition of a tranny cooler will extend the life of the tranny

and although manuals dont have a external oil cooler
they can be fitted with them

Looks like I can do without the transcooler then.

Money now saved for the T5

No manual are different. Autos have the oil running through the cooler in the radiator.
