Hi guys ive been sitting on some NF fairlane fog lights for a while and have been wanting to install them into my EL fairmont ghia but havnt had a clue where to start. Just wondering if anyone has done it before and has some tips, and whether or not it is an easy job to do?
Also ive been told i would have to install a seperate switch for these fog lights as it is apparantly illegal to have them working through the normal headlight/parker switches, is this true?

Thanks for your help guys just somethin ive been wanting to do for a while, any feedback will be helpful thanks again

I'm actually in the process of doing the same thing to my EF Fairmont. In terms of physically getting the lights in it's conveniently easy, the two little duct covers in the bumper have clips that you just pinch together from the inside (lie down under the front bumper and sort of just reach around for them..lol..or if you just pull them off and break them, it doesn't really matter too much unless you want to use them again) and the lights just go straight in. I read a tip somewhere to use wingnuts, it's an excellent idea, just grab some 5mm wingnuts and they are super easy to bolt in place. That's all I've done so far but as for the wiring, I was going to just wire mine up to the parkers, because they are technically driving lights not fog lights they are apparently okay, and the way they point (kind of out to the side, not straight ahead) I think you can get away with it. That's what I was told, I'm hoping it's true haha.

alrite that sounds great ill give that a try, ive actually got a front bumper on now that im getting replaced so its a good chance for me to get a practice in so if i break the clips i get a second chance at it haha. thanks for those tips ill look into those wingnuts aswell they sounds like the way to go, hope your installing goes well and without dramas, and let me now how you go coz ill follow the way you have done it as im not usually the biggest electrician haha so im really going in blind with the electrical side.
Thanks a lot for your reply mate

Haha to be honest I know very little about the electrical side myself, I was just like "Hey dad.....can I do this?" and he seemed to think it'd be fine.
He was like "Yeah, just wire it straight up to the parking light wires wherever you can find them, close to the bulb because then you can get to them easily"
And stupid me, I didn't really think that would be a problem until I looked and went "oh yeah, they're under a dust cover."
So before I go cutting a hole in that, I'm trying to find where they go..haven't looked hard yet but I'm not sure where they go after this point

I found them up under the RH guard (from underneath the car) but they are too far to work with from there I reckon. :/
I'll keep looking.

I'm not sure how many times I've gone through this, but.....

They are NOT fog lights. They are cornering lamps. They come on with the indicators to help light the way around a corner.

You can wire them as fog lights, but they do sweet f**k all as they mostly throw the light out the sides. They look good though :D

Wiring them to the parkers is probably illegal.

Dont forget to wire in relays and fuses to the cornering lamps...
Dont just use the power from the parkers... could lead to a whole mess of melted wires with the increased amperage load......

wiring relays etc can be difficult for some people...

You should be able to get everything you need from supercheap etc easy enough...
