Howdy.

What's involved in retro-fitting an F6 intake to an XR6T? I've seen / heard of some very good gains with this mod and was wondering:

A) where could you get one from?

B) what's involved in fitting one?

Also, what sort of gains have YOU seen from this simple mod?

Thanks blokes (and sheilas) :D

Isn'tit just a matter of removing the air box off the one and plonking in the Typhoon one, I thought it was the same air box, just with a hole in the front an snorkel to fit under the headlight?
And retro fitting usually refere to taking parts off one car of one age and fitting to one of a different age, e.g. AU to XC, XR6T and Typhoons are run in the same model, BA and BF, same age.

Is it even possible to walk into ford and buy one? I thought wth all these fpv parts you had to provide a vin number to buy parts? Maybe be different with small parts like the intake.

I have the F6 intake on mine, well the bottom of the airbox, with the snorkel out the front going under the headlight, and the bigger normal snorkel, sounds better for sure. Cost bout 200 off ebay, Bayford parts I think.

I am still under warranty too, wouldnt worry. Induction noise is better, by far, not sure about seat of pants, but i reckon there is a bit there that wasnt before, but it cant be any worse, and more cold air is better than less.

i wouldnt be too worried about it affecting your warranty. the basic rule is that any mods you do wont be covered but wont affect the rest of your car. it will only affect anything that the mods may affect.

hope that makes sense
