Had fun on saturday, was at CMS in liverpool all day installing a new head and upgrading the cam.

The Cam - Joes Stage 3, mmm lumpiness

The Head - A Stage 2 Saloon spec head.

Overall she has a lot more torque than before and will be dynoing soon to get some actual figures.

it was built for a saloon race car, basically all the internal chambers have been machined out as much as possible, then its had CMS Stage 2 porting and machining. so really its like a 2.5 however the 3 doesn't have this work done to it either.

she peaked at 142rwkw, ran nice AFR's to about 170kh when it started leaning out, so from a standard EA bottom end she does pretty good, next thing would be to change the bottom end or at least the pistons to get the comp up from 8.8 to what the later E series are which is around 9.3-9.4. getting the comp up will put her over the 150 and get the torque up which topped at 320nm.

nah thats impossible mate, generous dyno blah blah blah

lol, congrats dude, i told you those figures are easily achievable with minimal mods....... and you were doubting my 138kw?

Good to hear anyway your car is running good....... im guessing half the problem was a rooted head and gasket.

Im also taking your advice on dialling the cam in, and have spent 70 bucks on a dial gauge and base, but it almost seems pointless, as were talking about 1 or 2mm adjustments here.......
