While tinkering last night putting blue leds in the dash, my car has since dropped cyl 1. I started it for 30 seconds or so and then shut it off, cyls 2 thru to 6 my extractors were way to hot to touch but I could comfortably hold my hand on no. 1.

Would removing the cluster do this. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Please no silly comments either.

i think it would just be coincidence that a cyl dropped after you pulled the dash out..

cold or cool extractor pipe will be no spark on that cyl..
check the lead for spark then check the plug..

Spark plug worked on another lead so its not that.

Will try the lead on a different coil see if that's it.

Ok so I swapped leads 1 and 6 around. There both on the same coil, number 1 lead works on coil 6 but number 6 lead doesn't work in coil 1. I would have thought both would die at once not just the one. I never broke down under load it just failed this morning.
It hasn't been wet or anything.

Thanks mods for clearing up the triple post.

Well 230,000 isn't to bad for a coil pack.

Should I look for a performance one still I'm doing some power upgrades or will a standard replacement do?
I'm doing a vct head ported and polished with a cms stage 3 cam and a flash tune.

Since I need to drive into town tomorrow will it pay to unplug the injector for that cylinder to stop the fuel going in?
