Anyone out there had a "Vaporate" fitted to the car. Repco are doing em here and claim to give 20% better fuel eco. There only $389 fitted including manifold gasket to suit. I was thinkin of gettin it done but just wanted to know if any had got it done and noticed any advantage?

Yah iv seen it around a bit the fad of it seems to have died down. I don't know anyone who has fitted it but would be very interested to see results on a i6 falcon to see if it truely works. Iv considered giving it a try but I bet it wont work

The idea of the vaporate is to increase the temperature around the fuel injector. Now I dont know about you, but its already pretty bloody hot there to start with!

Its just another Snake Oil con, its not proven to work yet, there has been no long term tests. Its about as effective as the HiClone jobbies.

Put that money into 6 tank fills!

HAHAHAHH
from what i have seen the heat is concentrated aroudn the injector like havign a heater inside the injector, it is strange though that to make more power the fuel wold be better off cooler not hotter....

The reason injectors become blocked is from the excess heat after the engine shuts down. The fuel still in the injector start to 'boil over' and gums up. So whats the vaporate going to do? Block the injectors faster than normal.... *I also acknowlegde that there may be small dirt particles that block injectors, but they too become baked onto the injectors internal due to heat*

Wait a minute, wouldnt a blocked injector cause an engine to run lean, and hence use less fuel... Oh what a smart person, making money off that idea, BASTARD!!!

i would say that this could be effective(though not to the tune of 20%) on some conventional carby cars that may not atomise the fuel that well and so the extra heat could help with this but i wouldent even bother on any fuel injected car.

A carburettor doesnt have injectors, it has jets... You want to remove as much heat from the intake as possible, not increase the heat.

Fit a HiClone or 5 and some vaporate, you will get 1000km/L... Sounds suss, cause it f**k is!

im saying that something that introduced heat around where the fuel was being atomised could be beneficial in a carbie car where the fuel is not atomised all that well so go shove a vaporate up your a** FFS

vaporate is just a glorified form of the pre-combustion chambers found in indirect injection diesel engines
