Im after a cam for the VCT engine in my AU.I was told that it would be easier to change the head to the HP then do a cam but i want to see if i can get a cam for the VCT first.just because i havn't heard of anyone doing it.

I know this is old but I just got my VCT head and cam, to my surprise the cam is the same as the XR6HP cam I am currently running. Both are WR2T 6250 3A cams. This leaves me to believe that perhaps any AU cam would also benifit the VCT.

EDIT****
Talking to ford spares the camshafts are different part numbers.
VCT one is ERT6250B and the HO is ELHT6250A
Perhaps I have been ripped. :?

Looks like the profiles are the same between the HP and VCT cam, there is a slight difference in the way the cam gear connects hence the different part number. It means that a VCT cam will only fit a VCT head.
