Hi Fellas, a question for those who may have tried or know this.
Has anyone used a VCT camshaft in a standard AU?.
It has better specs than a STD AU cam and is only slightly different to the HP cam.
I mean cam only without the VCT.
I guess it depends on the position of the keyway in relation to timing but they all run the same chain, so i think it would work?.
Any Ideas?.
Thanks.
98hybrid.

it wont work in a non vct engine as the front of the cam is different and the std cam gear wont bolt onto the vct cam..
and the vct cam gear wont fit into the std head..

i thought the front of the cam could be different as the vct use a torx bolt were std use a bolt.
just go the aftermarket one, would be a greater gain.

I have tried it when i removed my vct cam gear (disconnected the VCT) and replaced the vct timing gear with a AU intech standard cam gear and bolted up fine as long as you ust the intech cam gear and bolt

ok yes well it worked only down side was that you couldnt change the cam timing as easily as vernier cam gear
