i just put a 1636 into my ed 5 speed today, while still running it in the performance is near negligable, you do notice a bit of extra oomph but not a great deal, keep in mind i swapped a 1604 for the 1636.

Thinking about sticking with the 1636 for now then, not to offend the RPD boys, but as soon as I get a hint that one of there cams will be better for my low and mid range ablls I'll be more than willing to change over. But since the 1636 is already fitted and in - can't justify the cost or time to change over without some sort of reason to (and no I don't really want to do it just to test for the next person to come along - unless someone providing the cam free  )...

was wondering where you got to southy, will you have boost by the drag day???

on topic, i have my rpd r3 ALMOST fitted, just waiting on some rockerarm bits from sydney, so the install will be finished on monday, and have it in two dyno days and a drag day in the next few weeks :)

alot of data on rpd cams will be out after the dyno/drag day, as a few are attending each.

Southy (manual EA, 2.92SS) ran a 14.7 I think it was a Crow 'stage 2'.

Camgears much of a muchness, get whatever you can get cheaper IMO.

Have a bit of a look around on the forums, seewhat people have said.
Check out the eseries quarter mile times, don't bother with the dyno thread.
If you weren't in Tas, I'd say go to a cruise and question people, always handy to get firsthand face-to-face opinions.

PM people who you know to be running a certain cam for their opinion.
Theres a fair bit of choice out there for us now, unbiased firsthand opinions are gold in helping you make a decision.
did a 14.6 with the old engine consisting of standard 4litre short motor.. EF tickford head..port polish.. stage 2 crow cam.. 5spd conversion.. heavy duty clutch.. standard 3.23 single spinner diff...
