advancing the cam can lower the rev range/power band slightly and retarding it can raise the rev range/power range..

but for best results it should be dialed in as per cam specs..

okay thanks i had the cam dial in but the dude who did it just said it fine where it was. i reckon it hasnt got enough balls up top end. i had a little drag with a mates stock XG ute and his top end just pull away like i was nothing and being an XR6 i should be the one pulling away from him dont u think?

we check the weight of both cars and the ute was a little heavier and no it doesnt seem like it pulling strong all the way to redline. is there anything else that can cause it to lose top end. ive replace spark plug leads to top gun max 300's and spark plugs.

was the cam dialed in at all? or was it set at 0 on the vernea gear=std??
as the wade cams should still perform good even set to std specs..
unless the cam timing is out by a tooth or something??

does the car have other mods like exhaust ,extractors ect?

Get some extractors that thing man, you'll need them to get full benefit of the 1673 cam.

Someone made an easy hundred bux!
When dialled in on 0 the cam should come on strong from 3k to 6k rpm, even without extractors....
Does it feel any better over stock?

do u mean the stock XR6 cam? the old motor before i rebuilt it. it only made 108rwkw and this 6 month old rebuilt motor made 125rwkw. yes it does feel stronger than the last cam but im expecting more out of this cam considering my mates stock EL futura made 123rwkw, 2kw less than mine and hes only got a exhaust on it.

get some extractors, the thing must be suffocating!
125 is a low figure with a 1673 in it, with some 4480's should be around 140

You should be able to flog his car with your car in stock form. You should get your car on a diag see if there are any dead sensors, maybe your cat is stuffed. That will kill your power output quite a lot. check your air filter, clean your throttle body. Run a tank of BP ultimate and see how it goes.
