Has it got traction control, or hill desend?. Some cars I have seen with traction have like a d laying down on their side as the indicator tell tale.

Generally an orange warning light is not as bad as a red one. And the slash through it means is isn't working.

Can you post a picture?

There are some members here that drive the Explorer, one of them I think is vibrate. Also, there is a site called www.myford.com.au that until recently would allow you to download owner's manuals and also let you look up particulars of your own car if you had the VIN number. However, it seems it is being rebuilt and won't be online for a few months yet.

ok just had a look for you,

its the over drive off light :D

the button for it is on the side of the gear shifter

the manual says if it flashes it means their is a malfunction... press it a few times while your driving see if it goes away..

if its on all the time, over drive is disabled, if its flashes, there is an error and if its off overdrive is enabled..

so yeh, press the button a few times see if it goes away, if it stays on get it looked at asap
