running rich when its cold in the morning the CAT may be converting the richer exhaust gases into H2o as it does and start dripping out the exhaust. see it in morning traffic all the time

water condenses in the exhaust over a cold night. Some of the water turns into steam and some just get pushed back through the exhaust and comes out in drips. Sometimes black sooty water due to carbon deposits in the exhaust.

Get the cooling system CO2 to check for exhaust gas in the cooling system. This will tell you alot about the condition of the head. But if the car turns over easily and starts easily and is using no real amount of coolant, I'd go for condensation in the exhaust, which is normal to a certain extent unless it is reallt running out!

yer it starts every time no worries and doesn't use any more than standard amount of coolant and never over heats so isn't that a clear sign ?

It's fine. if it's a few drops out the back only after a cold start, then it's fine. If it happens all the time even when the car is running, you may have issues.

It's a good start. Lots of heads fail thru overheating, but lots thru corrosion too. One check that you could do yourself is to remove the spark plugs keeping them in order. Compare the colouring of the electrode. If all the same colour you are pretty safe. If one or more is washed clean (sorta looks like a new plug) thats fair amount of water in that bore. If the have a brownish tinge to them, maybe gasket, get CO2 test done. Tests costs me when I send customers cars there about $15

Sounds to me like simple case of condensation, does the car do long trips or just short ones? my first Fairlane had water coming out but you could fill radiator and then pour in another, then go get another etc... it was like a giantV8 water pump, it had a loose big end that had worn through bore, yours sounds reasonably normal. :D
