G'day,

Getting what i thought was a blown head gasket fixed, but the gasket is still in tact. However there is water still getting into the cylinders, so what is the likely problem?

The head is getting warp and crack tested btu i was just curious if there is any other problem it could be?
How much is it gonna be to replace a cracked head if thats the problem?

u can buy a head needing reco for somewhere between 50 and 100 bucks

couple of dudes on ebay to complete reco heads for around 300/350

if the gasket is 100% intact the head will be cracked for sure. Unless you have a rooted block thats allowing water into the cylinder that way but thats highly unlikely

If the gasket is for sure good, then the head is either cracked or has porosity holes in it. Depending on the severity these can be successfully repaired.
I had a head welded in my old EA, that repair was good for several years and was still going ok when I sold it.
This maybe a cheaper option for you than replacing the head with a reco unit. Welding of Al heads is best left to the experts.

Did a EB 4.0 head not ago. Gasket looked ok, head "looked" ok. Had the head done and all was good.
