Over the last few weeks a noise under the bonnet was getting louder and louder, its still not really loud but i checked it out. I thought it would be the tensioner pulleys, however when i got the belt off they were fine.
The waterpump has lots of play in the bearing and is a little rough to turn, whats weird is it hasnt started leaking.

anyway my question is what is a good price for a new one
I found this on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-FALCON-WATE ... 1|294%3A50

Is that a good price??
how much more is it from repco/autobahn/sprint auto as id prefer to do it this weekend

thanks for any help

don't buy cheap s**t.

Go genuine with the water pump, they can be bought for around $70 with haggling.

Genuine pumps have thicker impellers and I assume a better quality bearings

Yeh should do. My water pump was cactus, had masses of play in the shaft, and didnt leak, so you never know...
