Hey guys,
When I take off at lights or anywhere that I come to a complete stop at, I hear like 3 or 4 clicking/thudding noises from under the car but it doesn't seem to happen all the time but more often then not, it does. Seems to be coming from somewhere at the rear of the car. Ive jacked it up and taken a look underneath but nothing seems out of place or wrong. Just wondering if anyone would know what it is or if anyone has had it happen on their car before? |

Sounds a little bit like diff chatter, but unlikely unless your XR was optioned up with an LSD.....

Diff bush. /thread.
seriously, the most common issue with these cars is the diff bush, it does the exact thing you mention.

Get back under and check your centre, left and right diff bush. I was getting a thud on take over and got mine replaced and its gone. Mind you its not an easy job to replace them

Mind you its not an easy job to replace them +1 6+ hours of labour, as the rear end basically has to entirely come out to get at the bushes. So get them all done, while it's out, to save on labour costs.

Good advice mate, thats exactly what i did and got most of my other bushes replaced, altho the bloke at wholesale suspension had the whole cradle out like 45 mins!
