Hey guys just wondering what diff ratio i would have on my 97 Fairmont Ghia, and i think i have LSD. if that makes a difference.

3.45:1 LSD

Well it is good, but depends on what you want from your car. You could upgrade to 3.9 or 4.11 if you want more acceleration, which means that it will be revving harder at 100kmhr.

Tickford spec...3.45:1 LSD Ghia spec......3.23:1, 4 pinion open centre or optional LSD.

Its a tickford spec.
how much would i be looking at for $$$ to upgrade ?

To have your diff rebuilt with new 3.9 or 4.11 gears, I would expect that for a workshop to supply and fit the gears would be anything from $800 to $1500 depending on what else you get done.

Yeah i recently had a quote to get gears put in my diff and they wanted $650 - i supplied the gears and took the diff in - not in car! gears were about $150 delivered (3.89's)

Im going to get my xh diff done soon and if i take it in with axles out and the centre in (diff out of the car) they'll set up new gears to my lsd for $180
 I reckon thats cheap....phill |
