Hey guys

i need some advice. Hows this for luck 2 weeks ago i reveresed into a pole a westfields ( stupid i know), but on the way back tonight from getting my upper control arms changed as i just fitted a new diff and they were the wrong ones i had another accident. Now we had stopped at a set of traffic lights and then it went green and we started going got up to 60 then everyone just f**k stopped. Anyway i didnt stop in time and hit the car in front. the guy in fronts like i dont wanna get the cops involved and im like yeah sweet as.

Now where do we go from here?? i know we should have called the cops but i only got 3 points on my license left and im guessing i will probably lose it if i tell em but yeah basically whats the go??

Thanks in advance
Jono

Im not exactly sure what you want advice on...ah well

You dont have to call the police if you have an accident, only time the police need to be called is if someone is hurt pretty much. So all you really need to do is get his insurence details and his name address ect, call your insurence company tell them and let them sort it out. presuming you have insurence

he should go and get some quotes, show them to you, you decide wether or not you want to make a claim (that is if your insured), otherwise youve gotta pay out of your own pocket

the insurance won't pay out because theirs no mediator in the middle to confirm the claim, which is the Police. You have 24 or 48 hours to report it.

then again each insurance has there own policy.

Ok this is for WA and my personal exp

YOU MUST report all traffic accidents to the police
this is either them attendign the scene ie when someone is hurt/ambos's called or damage exceeds $XX i think was over $1000 ( i could be wrong )

By reporting the accident all u do is go to the cop station and fill out a accident report form and u get a copy of the report number which is needed by insurance companies

the report also helps work out who is to blame ( unfortunately in your case YOU are as u failed to stop )

If you do not want insurance companies involved u dont tell teh cops and get private quotes and work it out betweent he 2 of u that way
