Hey everyone,

So the engine mounts on the EB need doing and searching multiple times has led me to believe that genuine ford engine mounts are the go as aftermarket ones seem to let go quite quickly according to others.

I called ford yesterday and apparently they no longer stock engine mounts to suit an I6 EB, but they stock transmission mounts for $254 a pop

Anyway my reason for starting this thread, what engine mounts would you recommend I go for?

Should I source some good second hand genuine ones or go aftermarket?

Roughly how much should I be looking to pay?

Oh and for somebody that's never replaced engine mounts, roughly how long would it take me to get done?

Thanks in advance,
Luke

Just grab a set off eBay.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-FALCON- ... 1862wt_952

Or try an auto store like Repco or Super Cheap.

Changing the mount should take you about 1-2 hours. Just remember to jack up the engine under the bellhousing and not the sump :)

Just drop into a repco store, mounts are on the shelf in most stores, not expensive either. As for the trans mount, that's usually on the shelf too, and a hellova lot more reasonable than the ford price! You should be able to do all the mounts, all 3 of them, and buy a slab with change from $254 lol.

Cheers

Yeah... I learned the hard way on that one.

I got them from Repco for $24 each trade.

Thanks guys!
Might give it a crack over Christmas break when I have more time if it doesn't worsen...
