this is a eb 4 litre motor thats replaceing the 3.9 in the ea.

i wnt to know what goes in the bottom hole,the top is for the tensioner but what is this for.

sorry about the size,it makes it easier to see,,

Edit : They are bolt holes to retain the timing chain cover, directly behind there is the oil pressure entry to the timing chain tensioner, so it needs to be tensioned down well in that area of the timing chain cover. Do not exceed the rating set by Ford though

um the two bug bolts above them are for the streering pump,i think it's just a bolt hole to hold the cover on.

power steering pump front bracket peice thingo.
tnesioner, or the timing chain tensioner is around the corner in between those two... you can see it or the retainer and plug at least in the picture there.

isn't it the bracket from the alternator that bolts there?
it does in ef/el's not sure on earlier falcons.

nup the alternator sits lower down on the ea and eb,i think it is just a cover bolt hole.

it is definantly just a bolt hole i got the same engine (no a/c though) and i just had a look now
