I have been replacing my head gasket and i have confused myself by finding a part that i don't know what it is. so what is it and how do i install it

it's the timeing chain tensioner and goes in the side under the power steering mount,,,you should see the hole for it...looks like one piece is missing though.

it is from near the power steering pump

dude u have to take notice of things when u pull them apart

yes that you will need to put back in before you kick it over.

i wasn't ment to pull it all out, i was just ment to turn the allen key bit, but how do i reinstall it

I think that is the Haynes one...if not then a Gregory's but by the looks of the setup of the paragraphs and columns...it's out of a Gregory's

f**k i wish i seen that diagram when i done mine a while back......because i f**k the timing, i HAD to take tensioner out, but forgot which way it went in....guessed, put it in and broke the hole lot of it. Metal shards now in sump.

Just be careful, as the oring should be changed on the big black threaded thingy. I had oil really pissing out. and all because of a rubber ring...pfffttt
