I can tell you are quite new...and I don't think he would care two F***s. Using a sympathetic lie just makes you more of an untrustworthy d***head. Don't take it personally...I just hate liars.

anyways back on topic. The whining is just your Transmission my EL does that but I think it is only proned on 4 speeds. So anyone with a 3 speed I think you may have a different noise if I remember correctly from my EA experiences.

phong =P~

Any 4sp auto that hasn't had good & proper servicing, and an aux tranny cooler, will whine in the lower gears. Its the bushings in the planetery sets. Its not half obvious when you take the pan off & find a pile or piles of brass filings sitting there along with clutch & band material.
Oil is cheap verses auto tranny repairs.

For What It's Worth. :wink: Don't worry, noisy has a cast iron exterior, but deep down inside, he's just blood and guts and pink s**t like you and me. 8-)

But yeah, I have heard a little bit of a whine on a VR Commodore, they have Aisin boxes don't they? I don't know..

They are Turbo Hydro units, owned by GMC or Chev or what ever they want to be called. Its pretty much the same for anything like that, you don't look after it, its gonna bugger up.
